Chris and Emilee's Wedding

April 4, 2008
Emilee Olson and Chris Munday get married in the Salt Lake City temple.

An eternal companionship!

My two little princesses all grown up.

Carrie and I were married in this same temple 28 years earlier (December 17, 1980). Boy how time flies!

What a blessing to add Chris Munday to the Olson family.

It's not easy for a dad to see his little angel grow up and get married, so this dance was touching for me. What an wonderful day for us as parents!

One down, three to go. ;^)

Wendover to Jackpot motorcycle ride

Hmm... Looks like I failed in teaching Jace the lesson that, when riding full speed across the salt flats, you don't grab your brakes when you all the sudden hit a muddy patch. Lesson learned! That's OK, Jace, Keller had to learn this same lesson the last time we crossed the salt flats.

What a great father and son group (Olson's, Stoddard's, Perry's, Howes', Prescott, Hazen & Hazen). Now, if Brent could just keep up with us!

Nothing quite like a big greasy burger at your "out in no-where ville" bar (Montello) after a long mornings ride across the desert of Northern Nevada.

Yes, boys will be boys. They never seem to grow up. ;^)

Jace earns his Eagle Scout Award

Jace earned his Eagle Scout Award just before he moved away from his home, in San Diego, to finish school at Bountiful High School. There is not a better example of the Scout Oath than Jace; "Trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, brave, reverent... and all that other stuff. ;^) Of course, he had a little help with that scouting program from his wonderful mother. What a TEAM!

Collin Raye concert at UVU

Ahh... What a great ending to a wonderful summer! Carrie and I went with Emilee, Austin and Megan, to the Collin Raye/Josh Gracin concert to celebrate the transition of UVSC to UVU.

Sitting on a comfortable blanket, enjoying the warm summer evening, watching the orange sunset, listening to country music, while surrounded by half our family, is a blessing that's hard to explain. Life just doesn't get any better than this!

Oops... Yes it does--if you have the rest of your family sitting on the blanket with you. We missed out on having Chris, Sadie and Jace with us. Chris was working for Pinnicale Securities in Virginia Beach and couldn't come home with Emilee for the visit. Dang! Sadie is a paramedic in Las Vegas and was unable to come to Utah for our visit from San Diego. Jace is living with our good friends, the Wortley's, because he wants to finish his senior year of high school in Bountiful. He too couldn't make our evening out.

It's hard to believe that all of our kids are now adults and living away from home. Carrie and I are TOO young to be empty-nesters! So, it is opportunities like these, where we can get together with our kids, where we find happiness and fulfillment in our lives. Despite not having our entire family there, this is one of life's great moments that will live with us for years to come. It's amazing how some of the happiest times of our lives come from such small events.
